With all of the planning that goes into organizing a baby shower, its very easy to forget about the invitations. I know when I had my first baby shower, I didn’t think about those things until it was time for me to start inviting everyone!
Not only did I get them at the last minute, but I also paid an arm and leg for those pieces of paper! Sure, they ended up being very nice, but thats because I paid to customize them.
Thanks to the people at invitationland.com, you don’t have to worry about buying any invitations for your baby shower! They offer free, customizable invitations that you can print on your own!
Before we go any further, you will need to have some sort of PDF reader for this to work. The final product that you create will be turned into a PDF file, where you can hit print, and watch the money you are saving come straight out of your printer!
If you dont have a PDF reader, Adobe Reader is completely free, and it is the most popular PDF reader out there! You can get Adobe Reader here:
So now that we have figured out that you have everything you need, head on over to their website, and check it out! In this post, I will walk you through the process of creating your free invitations.
1. Pick the template
There are only three templates to choose from, but we cant complain, because they are completely free! Find the one that you like the most, and click on it.
2. Edit The Text
After you clicked on the template that you liked the most, you will be taken to the Edit Text screen. From here, you can make the card say exactly what you want it to say. To do so, click the mouse over the specific text that you want to change, and that will activate the edit tool. From here, get creative and write whatever you want in the blocks!
3. Change The Font Color And Text
Now that the card says exactly what you want it to say, you can change the colors and fonts that the card is made up of. In the example that I am using, color 1 changes the color of the footprints. Color 2 changes the color of the border, and color 3 changes the background. (I recommend keeping the background white, unless you don’t mind using a lot of your colored ink).
To change the font type, just click on the font that appeals to you the most. You can see it change live, so if you don’t like the way it looks, move on to the next one
4. Turn your invitation into a PDF file
You have the option of printing 4 invitations per page, 2 invitations per page, or 1 invitation per page. The more invitations per page, the smaller they will be. Select whichever option you wish, and click CREATE PDF.
If you get a message telling you that your browser has blocked pop-ups from this site, just follow the directions to unblock this site.
5. Save The Invitations To Your Computer
After you click Create PDF, your customized invitations for your baby shower should open up in either a new tab, or new browser window. You could just print them right from your browser, but I recommend that you save them to your computer so that you can print more later if you want. To do that, at the top of your browser, click File, then Save Page As. The save file box should open up, allowing you to save the invitations wherever you wish on your computer
6. Print Your Cards
You can use regular paper, or something a little more fancy. The choice is yours! To print, click on the printer icon located in the top left corner of the PDF file in the browser.
There you have it! Your own personalized invitations for your baby shower! You also have the option of paying to become a member to print the matching thank you cards and stuff, but since I am no way affiliated with this website, I will not promote it. Personally, I would be happy with the free invitations, and be on my way! Its your choice though!
